Crate and Barrel CEO Steps Down

Neela Montgomery is officially departing from her role as chief executive officer at Crate and Barrel. Montgomery reportedly told the board of her intention to do so at the end of last year. “It has been a pleasure to lead these amazing brands at Crate and CB2,” Montgomery said in a statement. “We have accelerated their strategic and operational capabilities as a digitally-forward, innovative retailer now positioned for the future. This is a passionate, talented team with a great platform for continued success. I thank them for their commitment and as I take on new challenges, I look forward to seeing their future achievements.” Her last day will be August 1.

The product, which is titled Eden, shows off a different side of the lighting designer’s capabilities. It’s come to fruition thanks to a collaboration with Calico Wallpaper, with whom Adelman first partnered in 2018. “Collaborating with Lindsey on this project was a delight,” Calico Wallpaper’s Rachel Cope comments to AD PRO. “We have a similar approach to the creative process in that we see beauty in imperfection. Eden celebrates that—it has an organic quality, like it’s handmade.”

Nonprofit Rallies Street Artists for a Cause

Italian nonprofit Yourban 2030 has produced a global street art campaign designed to raise funds for Black Lives Matter initiatives and a number of NGOs, as well as to support those particularly impacted by the pandemic. The program, called Color 4 Action, features black-and-white works by artists including Shepard Fairey (known for the iconic Barack Obama “Hope” design), Ron English, Jeremy Fish, and Okuda.
