Kelly Wearstler has designed some of the most captivating rooms of our time. She’s the creative mastermind behind the interiors of the San Francisco Proper Hotel, Four Seasons Anguilla, and BG Restaurant at Bergdorf Goodman, not to mention many high-profile residencies. Her bold, textural approach to decor has made her a favorite for those who lean maximalist. “Living without color is like living without love,” she writes in her latest Instagram post, a true testament to her daring style. With numerous awards under her belt, the maximalist designer is finally ready to share all her tips and tricks with fans and aspiring designers.
Wearstler has launched her own 17-lesson video course on MasterClass. In this two hour and 13 minute course, she will lay out the foundations of what interior design really is, while helping students cultivate their own unique style. She’ll share ways on how to make any space feel larger (yes, please!) and how to design spaces that tell stories. Students should graduate this course with the ability to choose colors, patterns, and finishes with Wearstler confidence.
If you’re unfamiliar with MasterClass, it’s an online education platform that offers classes for students of all skill levels. However, what sets MasterClass apart from other digital classes is the brand’s instructor roster of famous creative professionals. Besides Wearstler’s class, members can take cooking classes from Gordon Ramsay, acting classes from Natalie Portman, writing classes from James Patterson, and even tennis lessons from Serena Williams. Unfortunately, Wearstler’s class cannot be bought individually and those interested in taking must sign up for an all-access MasterClass subscription. These subscriptions cost $180 a year and allow unlimited access to over 80 high-profile instructors and classes. Customers signing up for the first time are able to cancel after 30 days for a full refund.
Want to amp up your decor with some pieces from Wearstler? You can always shop her store online for some fabulous finds. For more budget-friendly options, this brand offers fixtures by Wearstler, as well as pieces from other greats like Thomas O’Brien and Ellen DeGeneres, at non-designer prices.
