15 Best Quibi TV Shows and Movies to Watch on the App

4 min read

On April 6, the entertainment world will forever be changed all thanks to the launch of a brand new mobile app called Quibi.

What is Quibi, you ask? It’s a streaming service featuring bite-size original shows and movies starring some of the biggest names in Hollywood — Kristen Bell, Liam Hemsworth, Chrissy Teigen, and many more. What makes Quibi unique is that the content is designed to only be enjoyed on your phone, and every episode or chapter of a program is 10 minutes or less long.

Once you hear the shows and movies offered on the app, you’ll likely want to immediately download it ($4.99 a month with ads, $7.99 per month without). There will be three kinds of entertainment experiences available on Quibi starting April 6 — movies in chapters, unscripted and documentary series, and daily essentials (a.k.a. news updates, weather forecast info, and more).

To help you prioritize what to watch first, we’ve rounded up the absolute best of the best when it comes to each category on Quibi. Here are our picks — you can watch all of the below, except for Stranger, starting April 6:

Best movies in chapters:

Survive

This drama follows a woman (Sophie Turner) who had plans to end her life before getting involved in a deadly plane crash. Somehow, she and one other passenger (Corey Hawkins) miraculously escape the wreckage. But their journey is far from over: they’ll have to brave the elements and band together to survive the wilderness.

Flipped

What happens when Will Forte and Kaitlin Olson unite to play a couple yearning to become TV’s next great home renovation show duo? Pure hilarity, that’s what. In this comedy produced by Funny or Die, the duo’s dreams are suddenly sidetracked when they get kidnapped by members of a drug cartel (Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria, and Broad City‘s Arturo Castro) and are forced to renovate their massive homes.

Stranger

If thrillers are your thing, you’ll be glued to your phone watching Stranger. An unassuming rideshare driver (Maika Monroe)’s life becomes a horrifying game of cat-and-mouse when a mysterious Hollywood Hills passenger (Dane DeHaan) gets in her car and threatens to murder her unless she tells him “a great story.” It’s important to note that Stranger doesn’t roll out on the app until April 13 — rest assured, when it does come out, it’ll be worth the wait.

Best unscripted shows & documentaries:

Thanks a Million

Jennifer Lopez, Tracy Morgan, and more headline episodes of this inspiring series, which features celebrities surprising people with $100,000 donations. In turn, that person gives $50,000 to someone else, who gives $25,000 to another individual, and so on.

Murder House Flip

Those of you who are into the supernatural will probably go nuts over Murder House Flip.
